Have seen some suggestion that they are different parts but no definitive answer. My question is - what is the difference between the heater fan on an aircon and non-aircon car 06 plate. Have narrowed it down to the motor itself so going to grab one from a scrappy to see if that gets the Mrs going again. With the fan taken out it works fine fuse is OK 12v at the connector if i take the earth from the connector while plugged into the fan to a body earth the fan spins at full speed and the switch does not alter speed at all. Leshill - I notice youve replied to a post with the same issue I have which is the heater blower fan not working. to the original post if u have checked the wiring loom im guessing you have a multimeter in which case makes sure you get 0v 3v 6v 9v and 12v (im guessing to the actual voltage but i would asume this is correct) on the respective settings on the controller also just because you have voltage doesnt mean you have current
Usually if you only have off and full power it is a problem with the resistor pack. With the connector in place and the power on if I connect the negative feed to earth the fan bursts into action at full speed only and the switch is totally by passed. What I have found is that if I put a meeter across the terminal that connects the fan I get a 12v reading.
